Digestive system issues and imbalances are a common problem and possibly one of the main reasons why clients visit us as reflexologists.  Understanding the possible causes behind some of the more common conditions, and the most effective treatment methods to use is invaluable when working with our clients. This will be a thorough & very interesting day

This course is for qualified reflexologists who wish to help clients with a range of digestive issues and would not only like to explore effective reflexology working techniques but to offer pertinent advice so that clients can take effective responsibility of their own digestive health issues.


5 CPD Points

Prerequiste: minimum Level 3 Reflexology

We will look briefly at digestive system anatomy but in relation to various digestive system imbalances (pathology) and in particular the role of the enteric nervous system as well as the importance of digestive immune system not only digestive health but on overall general health.

The practical session will focus on how to effectively and appropriately treat the ANS, the digestive system, locate relevant valves and sphincters as well as other practical working techniques that can be used as part of this treatment sequence or integrated into a general reflexology treatment.

The day will be divided between theory and practical. Theory will focus on anatomy of the GI tract and conditions that arise from imbalance. Other relevant factors will also be explored that contribute to the functioning of the GI tract. Reflexology techniques that can be used effectively for digestive system issues will be demonstrated and practised with discussion as to how they may be incorporated into a reflexology routine.

By the end of the day you will:

  • Have a good understanding of factors that can affect the functioning of the digestive system
  • Have gained experience of a various techniques that could be used on clients who complain of digestive system issues
  • Be aware of how these techniques can be safely and effectively used on an individual client basis
  • Be aware of pertinent lifestyle advice that can also be given to clients
