Our courses run at the Holiday Inn Express at Newport which is just 2 minutes off the M4 at junction 28 and just 15 minutes from Cardiff and from the Severn Crossing near Bristol. Darien Pritchard

Darien Pritchard has been a body-worker for over four decades. He trained massage professionals for 25 years, and has taught Professional Development courses for massage practitioners since the early 1990s. He is writing a book on Hands Free Massage and is preparing new editions of the student text Anatomy, Physiology and Pathology for Massage (2001/04) and his career-maintenance reference book Delivering Effective, Strain-Free Massage (2007) Darien has been a pioneer in focusing on the practitioner’s bodyuse as an integral part of massage training in the UK. He pioneered ‘Hands Free’ Massage - the skilful, sensitive use of the forearms and elbows to save the practitioner’s hands. Darien has also been developing RhythmMobility® bodywork in his practice since the 1980s. He combined and extended elements of massage and the Feldenkrais Method® with his love of rhythm (enhanced through dancing and playing music).

Marie Lloyd

Marie has been working in Healthcare for over 30 years in many roles such as Support Worker, Activities & Lifestyle Project Manager, Drug and Alcohol Detox Practitioner, Care Home Manager, Health & Social Care Trainer & IQA/assessor and Dementia Practitioner/Specialist. In 2000, Marie became a Holistic Therapist, qualified in Aromatherapy, Holistic Facials, Thai Foot Massage, Hot Stones, Hopi Ear Candle Therapy, Reflexology, Swedish Massage, Advanced Massage, Sports Massage, Lymphatic Drainage, Indian Head Massage, Maternity Reflexology, Music Therapy, Story Massage, Baby Massage, Mindfulness & Counselling. Marie’s aim was to provide therapies and training in Healthcare services to promote individual’s health & wellbeing. This bespoke training was acknowledged by various Healthcare organisations around the UK. Marie won Adult tutor of the year 2004. For the last 10 years, Marie has been providing qualifications, training and workshops in all aspects of Health & Social Care & Holistic Therapies in the Workplace, Colleges & Community Centres around the UK. As a Healthcare and Wellbeing Practitioner & Trainer, Marie delivers training and support in Dementia Care services, Mental Health services, Drug and Alcohol projects, Domestic Abuse projects, Childcare services and Third Sector organisations.

Michele Broom

After 20 years in Sales and Corporate fundraising Michele retrained in Holistic therapy and began to lecture in Reflexology, Aromatherapy and Massage in Bath and Bristol College. She is qualified teacher to cert ed standard and has achieved QTLS with the Institute for Learning and is a Reiki Master . Additionally she ran a busy onsite massage company for 15 years . Michele Joined us in 2010 and currently teaches Infant massage, On Site Massage, Warm Bamboo, Soft Cupping and Hot Stones

Joanne Perkins, Reg. Osteopath

Jo Perkins was born in Essex and graduated from the British School of Osteopathy, London in 1988. As a professional osteopath for the past 32 years, Jo manages her own busy clinic in Cardiff and has worked in Swansea University since 2013, initially as a clinic tutor, and since 2017 as a lecturer. Jo hasbeen a tutor with Teach Therapy since its launch in 2006

Julie Duffey

Julie Duffy is an accomplished tutor and therapist with over 30 years experience. She is programme lead for the BSc(Hons) Complementary Therapies at Cardiff Metropolitan University and has been chair of Education for the International Federation of Professional Aromatherapists. Julie developed the “Infant Massage Instructor” course, a very popular and rewarding therapy for therapists, midwives and Health visitors. She also teaches the “Massage in Pregnancy & Childbirth”.

Kate Mulliss

Kate has been a complementary therapist for over 20 years; her main areas of interest are reflexology, massage and aromatherapy. She previously worked as part of a therapy team in natural health, osteopathic and naturopathic medicine clinics. She has a special interest in using reflexology to support clients diagnosed with sub-fertility and also works with maternity clients in all trimesters of pregnancy. She has taught in both local FE college and in private training schools for over 15 years and is currently involved in reflexology training and education activities along with supporting reflexologists with their practice.

Sue Croft, Reg. Osteopath

I am Sue Croft. I have been a registered Osteopath for 20 years. I ran my own practice for 15 years in London. In 2018 I moved to Swansea to work full time as a lecturer in osteopathy. I teach both Anatomy & Physiology, practical skills and lead the Biomechanics module. Outside of Osteopathy I am an English Channel swimmer and spend a lot of time swimming in the sea. Because of my background in endurance sports, I am an Injury prevention coach and have coached at various training camps around the world. I work very much on a stop problems happening in the first place.
Anglea Green

Angela Green PGCE, BSc, MFHT

An experienced and Award Winning Clinical Complementary Therapist with 13 years’ experience working within Cancer Care in the largest NHS Cancer Centre in Wales. Angela currently runs her practice from Mind Body Oasis, Holiday Inn, Cardiff North offering a range of therapies including Reflexology, Aromatherapy & Massage, Indian Head Massage, Clinical Reflexology & Aromatherapy for Cancer and Reflexology Lymph Drainage. She is passionate about supporting people using complementary therapies and believes that complementary therapies can have a hugely beneficial effect helping the side effects of treatments and aiding in relaxation and stress relief, sleep disorders, digestive issues, pain management fatigue and many other problems. Angela is an experienced Educator and Lecturer offering a programme of Clinical CPD courses for Complementary Therapists wanting to update and expand their knowledge and skills.

Helen Tyler - Chartered Physiotherapist

Helen qualified as a Chartered Physiotherapist in 1974 and worked in various aspects of Physiotherapy in the NHS in Cardiff before taking some time out to have a family. On returning to work she took up lecturing Anatomy and Physiology with exercise and massage to Beauty Therapy and Complementary Therapy students which was followed by lecturing Physiotherapy students at Cardiff University. Helen then returned to the NHS as a clinical physiotherapist working in oncology at the Velindre Cancer Centre where she went on to become the lead therapist and manager of the therapy team. Helen is now retired but remains actively interested in the promotion of assisting people to live well with and beyond cancer.
